Each bird must sing with his own throat.

~ Henrik Ibsen

You know it is spring when the warm-weather birds set up their concession stands in the shrubs and begin hawking their wares.

It is difficult to concentrate on cleaning the gardens when all around, various birds are waving their tye-died beak warmers, yamicas with baseball logos, antique potato peelers, and faux Iroquois figurines that they spent all winter carving in Brazil.

Pedicures! Pedicures!

The annual spring pedicure stand resides in the English yews.

Tee-shirts! Colorful and usually 100 percent cotton. But bird-sized.

Cheeseburgers!

Do not under any circumstances buy the cheeseburgers. They are composed of adult pill bugs.

They are undercooked.
