Sedimentary feline formations accrue at or near the surface of couches, rugs, dining room tables, and other comfortable surfaces at relatively low temperatures and conditions in which pressure from the surrounding environment is quite low.

These formations can be caused by slow accumulations of cats over a long period of time, trickling of cats from higher surfaces, or spontaneous organic formations of cats (such as large, unruly litters).
