feline geological formations: clastic sedimentary

Clastic sedimentary cat formations are composed of aging, weathered felines that are deposited as layers in low-lying areas on the surface of carpets, cast-off sweaters, and other surfaces.

An individual layer of clastic sedimentary cats is called a catass. Multiple layers are called a catassae.

This unique layered arrangement is often called catastrophe.
